Rebuilding Leadership Within Our Homes

Hey My Loves!

Today, I just wanted to freely write out whatever was in my mind after my meditation.

I found myself thinking about the actions that it would take to Rebuild Leadership throughout the World, something like this takes a strong mindset and fluid resourcefulness.  It will take a ton of Unity.

If it EVER feels like I am writing in code...ALWAYS assume I am.

Daily Reflection: Embracing Growth & Gratitude

Hey My Loves!

This morning I wanted to share my daily reflection process because we all know that each day is a new opportunity to learn, grow and reflect to improve.  Join us on this journey of self-discovery and gratitude.

Please note that I actually do self reflection throughout the day.  To be honest my mid-day reflection is sometimes the most productive reflection moment.  However, for simplicity and to also encourage you to give it a try I will just briefly discuss starting a morning reflection routine for those of you to give it a try.

Here is my morning routine:

1. I start with ~15 mins of meditation to center myself and clear my mind of distracting thoughts.

2. Then, I do a Visualization to imagine the perfect day and focus on my daily goals.

3. Lastly, I practiced a bit of actualization to set my daily intentions and affirm them out loud.  You can         also write it and read it throughout the day.

Give it a try!  And let me know about your morning routines or if you want me to share more of my daily routine.

Moving along, incorporating these activities into your daily routine regardless of what time you do it.  Because to be honest it is best to do it period to bring more clarity to the direction of your life.  I say do it first thing in the morning to focus your day, cultivate a sense of peace, clarity, and purposeful direction to start your day on a positive note.

I love y'all and lets go master ourselves today and everyday!

With Love,

Building Resilience: Strengthening Ourselves and Our Children

Hey My Loves!

Yeah I know it has been awhile...let's just say that I was in my "feelings".  So, I had to work on it and everything that it included.  However this is NOT what I wanted to discuss today...

This Morning BJ 4 Juicy Thoughts is to discuss resilience.  Resilience is the ability to bounce back from challenges or setbacks and thriving difficult situations.  I feel, that if you have never learned about this and have children then you should teach what you learn and share to create a balanced home environment.  Let's first discuss ourselves and then how we can encourage it in our children by getting some insights on actionable steps and daily practices to test out in our home routines.

The catch is NOT to AVOID challenging situations but rather to embrace the challenge to learn and grow from the experience.  Let me tell you a few of my recent "beautiful challenges" and how I overcame them and worked through them.

Recently, I have been pondering over new ways to recover from financial & marital setbacks both within my mind metaphysically and physically.  So, I practiced checking my emotions while they were still within my head to avoid making the situation any more difficult than it was already perceived to be.

I also, got consistent with working on myself everyday and also playing with my schedule on and off.  I have found peace in the flexibility of what I am capable of doing in shorter amounts of time.

So what other ways can you incorporate a bit mo' resilience into our life each day?

  1. Daily Reflection - I started just thinking about it but then found that when I wanted to review it I couldn't really recall everything so now I write in out in one of my note taking apps.
  2. Practice Gratitude - I now go directly to the positive benefits of an experience rather than the negative.  It is WAY more peaceful.
  3. Finding A Support System - Currently growing a network on social media via Facebook/Instagram/Twitter @SistahUmoja (Sometimes it takes a Soul Tribe to get you.)
  4. Mindfulness & Meditation - Every morning I meditate, pray and plan for the day.  (The first few weeks were testing but I got through them.)
  5. Exercise and Physical Activity - I workout everyday...yes everyday.  It really helps boost those happy hormones to boost mental and physical resilience.

Those are just a few ways I was able to add them to my day.  Are there any other ways that you "Get 'Her Done"?!  Let me know in the comments.

Now all of those activities I include my children in the activities and YES it can be a bit chaotic when you have them there but open your mind and heart to the beauty of the experience and it will make it that much more special.  To be honest, I kind of like it when they check me as it builds up my resilience to take criticism from others.

We would love to know about the practices that you incorporate into your daily routine and how you brought the kids around for the fun.  I have comeplete faith in ya'll abilities to grow stronger resilience skills so that you and your children are more capable of facing WHATEVER comes ya'll way.

Have a wonderful day and as ALWAYS...I LOVE YA'LL!
